Fine Art Coup for Dublin Auction
Published August 24th, 2005
One of Irelands leading auction houses, James Adam & Sons, has been assigned HOK Fine Art’s business, further increasing its share of the Irish fine art market.
From next week HOK’s Fine Art department in Blackrock will transfer business to Adam’s which will now handle the entire fine art valuations, sales and clients from its centrally located St Stephen’s Green auction house.
Conducting over 12 Irish, Modern and Fine Art sales each year at Adam’s, HOK clients will benefit from the specialist expertise offered by Adam’s professional valuers and auctioneers.
James O’Halloran, Adam’s managing director, tells me: “This move consolidates Adam’s position as the premier auction house in Ireland and strengthens our form in the fine art field.
“HOK Fine Art’s business model fits comfortably with our existing practice.”
Aidan O’Hogan, chairman of HOK Residential, says he is delighted with the new partnership.
“With the continued expansion of our Dublin network of brand offices and the increasing market share of our Country Property department, the board believes our clients’ needs, in relation to Fine Art valuations and sales, will be better served by a dedicated specialist professional auction house, like Adam’s.”
