GOOD grandfather clocks always attract attention whenever they come to sale.

So it was no surprise when one in mahogany with painted dial sold for £1,150 at Morgans.

A carved two-door wardrobe went at £280 while a carved four fold screen made £200.

Other lots included: mahogany bedroom suite, £170; Royal Albert tea set, £160; pine dresser, £140; sunk centre dressing chest, £140; Duchess dressing table, £120.

Ross’s sold a Victorian mahogany Gothic two door bookcase at £550; a three seater blue leather settee and two chairs for £520 and a set of six bright cut silver soup spoons, Dublin 1795, for £500.

Bloomfields: diamond ring, £550; Victorian couch, £440; long-cased clock, £400; old gun, £350; Victorian sideboard, £350; Beswick horse and rider, £210; display cabinet, £190; art noveau lamp, £160.
