Irish carpet for Bonhams London auction
Published September 25th, 2005
One of the highlights of the Bonhams Knightsbridge sale of 150 carpets and rugs on October 11 is a large Arts and Crafts carpet, with an estimate of £20,000-25,000. It covered the dining room floor of a Lancashire country house for a century and was woven in Co Donegal, sometime around the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. It was designed by Gavin Morton and G. K. Robertson and is an impressive 22 by 13 ft.
