WITH 22,000 new cases of cancer reported in Ireland each year and hardly a family in Waterford that has not been struck by cancer at some time, people in the city and county are being asked to dig deep to support Daffodil Day, which takes place on Friday, March 24.
A target of €70,000 has been set for Waterford and that money will be used by the Irish Cancer Society to provide services for patients and their families in both hospital and community settings.
On Wednesday next, March 15, an auction will take place at 7.30 p.m. at the Waterford Manor Hotel. People are welcome to bring along unwanted items and have then auctioned by Kevin O’Ma-honey for a very worthy cause.
