eBay in talks to counter Google threat

Online auction giant eBay has had talks with both Yahoo and Microsoft to discuss a potential alliance against the threat of Google, reports the Wall Street Journal. Under one scenario, the talks could lead to an alliance in which eBay would boost its advertising spending with its chosen partner and provide access to data it has collected about its consumers.
