Foreign nationals make up one fifth of first-time buyers

Almost one fifth of first-time home-buyers in Ireland are non-nationals, according to research conducted by the Irish Mortgage Corporation.
The company says more than one third of foreign buyers are from Asia, particularly India, Pakistan and the Philippines, while a quarter are from the UK.

IAVI say house price’s rising

Alan Cooke, chief executive of the Irish Auctioneers’ and Valuers’ Institute, has pointed out, that a 1.1% monthly rise in house prices in July indicated yesterday still implied an annual increase of 13%.

UK Football Clubs launch ticket resale site to help stop eBay crime

Manchester United and Chelsea have joined forces to let fans sell unwanted tickets online.
The service, launched with online ticket exchange company Viagogo, enables the clubs’ season ticket holders to sell unwanted tickets to other club members for Premier League games. It is the first time this has been legally permitted.

E-voice firm launches service in Ireland

Evoca, a US firm offering a new voice recording application on the web, has launched a service for Irish users.
Evoca, based in Savannah, Georgia, is a novel recording service allowing anyone with access to a standard telephone or mobile phone to record their voice (or whomever else they may be recording) directly onto the web.
