Published October 24th, 2006
A major Irish sale of antique rugs is to go under the hammer today.
The auction of 139 vintage carpets includes an early 18th-century French tapestry that could fetch up to €25,000.
The collection at James Adam salerooms in Dublin is drawn from the stock of Dublin-based international retailer Peter Linden.
Mr Linden is downsizing his George’s Avenue, Blackrock, premises and concentrating on private consultancy work.
Antique rugs from the Kashan, Heriz, Tabriz and Sarouk regions of Iran could fetch up to €8,000 each at the sale.
