A 206AC Limerick dairy farm was sold after auction on Friday evening for €5.5m.
Auctioneer Basil Ruttle was right on the money when he set a guide price of €5.5m for the farm at Coolballyshane, Croagh but it wasn’t until after the auction that this price was achieved.
The farm, which included a milk quota of 43,746gal, was withdrawn from auction at €5m and sold immediately afterwards. It was bought in trust for an unknown buyer.
As a dairy unit, the property was well set up, with 133 cubicles and a ten-unit herringbone milking parlour. The sale also included a significant single farm payment of €21,500 per year.
