Monaghan land unsold at auction
Published March 20th, 2007
A 125AC residential Monaghan farm was withdrawn from auction unsold on Wednesday.
There was just one bid of €1m for a 62ac section of the farm at Tullynamalra, Castleblayney.
Auctioneer Connell Nugent from selling agents EP Nugent said there were no offers for the entire 125ac farm and no offers on the second 62ac block.
Although there was a large crowd of 50 people in the auction room, there was little outside interest in the land and most of those in the room were local.
With a guide price of €2.5m prior to auction, the farm had already been the subject of a €2.25m offer last week. However, that bidder bought another farm on Tuesday and did not attend the auction.
