Renovated cottage incorporates old dairy
Published May 1st, 2007
If good workmanship is still appreciated then Tony Feeney of DM Auctioneers maintains that he will have little difficulty in finding a buyer for a recently renovated cottage in Co Leitrim.
The nine-room residence is in the townland of Black Mountain, about 4.5 miles from the north Leitrim town of Manorhamilton and 3.5 miles from the village of Kiltyclogher.
The property has been tastefully restored over the last few years, with the owner extending the house to incorporate an old dairy which adjoined it.
Many of the original features have been retained, especially the use of flag floors. The house has four bedrooms and also includes a sitting room, living room, kitchen, bathroom and utility room.
The residence comes with all the mod cons, including a fully fitted kitchen. There are flag floors in the kitchen, bathroom and living room, with the latter also boasting an open fireplace.
The house is situated on an elevated one-acre site, with good views of the surrounding countryside. The gardens have been well maintained, while a mountain stream runs along the side of the property.
The property goes to auction on May 17 and a guide price of €300,000 is being quoted by the auctioneers. According to Mr Feeney, the bulk of the interest to-date has been from Dublin parties. unison.ie
