FORTY-EIGHT acres of Crossmolina land has gone under the hammer for a provisional figure in excess of €1million, writes Anna Marie Flynn. The agricultural land, close to Crossmolina town, went for a total of •1,007,300 at public auction in The Courthouse Hotel, Ballina on Thursday last.
Gerry Rowland, Auctioneer and Valuer at Optimum Auctioneers, made the record sale. Speaking afterwards he said he was delighted that the auction was a success and thanked all that attended and made bids on the day - both the successful and the unsuccessful.
Eight lots of land were auctioned at Fotish, Cross-molina. The first round saw the land reach over one million. A recess followed, with one lot not meeting the reserve, and that is still available for sale. The final price was •844,300 for seven lots.
Mr Rowland paid tribute to the vendors for the wonderful opportunity of dealing with their land and all at the Optimum Group for their continued dedication and hard work in the auctioneering business. westernpeople.ie
