Clare farm makes €4m at auction

A 63.6AC residential farm in Co Clare was sold for €4.05m at auction on Friday.
With a guide of €2.7m, auctioneer Cormac O’Sullivan from DNG O’Sullivan Hurley was pleasantly surprised at the huge turnout of more than 40 people, and even more pleased with the end result.
Opening strongly at €2m, the farm attracted three strong bidders before it went on the market at €3.5m.
With just two left in the running, they battled it out until the farm was eventually knocked down for €4.05m. The buyer was a Limerick solicitor who is believed to have been acting in trust for a client.
Mr O’Sullivan insisted the land had no development potential but it did include two houses. The first was a modern three-bedroom house while the second was a two-bedroom cottage.
