he derelict Abbey Cinema in Wicklow town has been sold, local auctioneer, Anne Lait, confirmed this week.
The cinema, which closed over five years ago, was put up for sale by tender which attracted a ‘healthy interested’ from perspective buyers.

GAA snaps up 12 Kildare acres for 1.1m euro

A GAA club has bought 12ac of agricultural land in north Kildare for a record-breaking €1.1m. The sum paid equates to almost €92,000 per acre.
The lands at Rathcoffey, Donadea, Co Kildare were offered for sale by private treaty.
