GAA snaps up 12 Kildare acres for 1.1m euro

A GAA club has bought 12ac of agricultural land in north Kildare for a record-breaking €1.1m. The sum paid equates to almost €92,000 per acre.
The lands at Rathcoffey, Donadea, Co Kildare were offered for sale by private treaty.
Rathcoffey GAA Club’s existing facilities adjoin its latest acquisition.
The purchase of the land will facilitate its ambitious plans for the club’s future development and expansion, which have been in the planning stages for some time.
Strong demand
Maynooth-based Property Partners Brady, who handled the sale, said that the price paid reflected the strong demand for land in the north Kildare area.
Rathcoffey is situated three miles from the village of Clane and only five miles from the university town of Maynooth, and development land in the general area is very highly sought after.
The lands at Rathcoffey are described by the auctioneers as being of excellent agricultural quality. Commenting on the sale, Eamon O’Flaherty, director of Property Partners Brady said: “Firstly, I want to congratulate the club and wish them all the best with the purchase and with their future plans.
