Airtricity Irish Wind Farm Auction

British utility Scottish & Southern Energy has joined in the auction of Irish wind farm operator Airtricity.

Tattersalls Ireland Bloodstock Auction

Tattersalls Ireland December sale finished on Dec. 18 when 158 broodmares and foals sold for a gross of 887,200 euros. The sale’s second session produced an average price of 5,600 euros.

Auctioneer company challenge Revenue

An auctioneering firm was yesterday given leave by the High Court to challenge moves by the Revenue Commissioners to inspect its records for the names of people who have bought property abroad since 2002.

Irish builders & auctioneers welcome stamp duty reform

The Irish Home Builders’ Association has welcome the Budget move to reform stamp duty. The IHBA’s Director Hubert Fitzpatrick said that the stamp duty measures will result in a saving of €10,750 on a house priced at €400,000.

Art collection sells for record 2.5m euro at James Adam Auctioneers

A rediscovered private art collection auctioned in Dublin today sold for what was described by the auctioneers as an “astonishing” €2.53 million – €1 million above the pre-sale estimate.

Ulster woman scammed on eBay

An Ulster woman said she lost a diamond engagement ring worth £2,000 – after being caught out by a scam on the internet site eBay.
Lisa Woodside, from north Belfast, placed the ring on eBay hoping to raise money for Christmas.
She received an email from a buyer she believed to be from Dallas, USA, offering £1,200.
