Livestock auctions install computer system

Three Northern Ireland livestock auction marts have signed up for a state-of-the-art computer system supplied by the Holbrook IT Group.
Kilrea-based JA McIlrath & Sons has become the latest mart to move to a computerised system to record the movement of livestock.

Keeneland horse auction sets record

The Keeneland September yearling sale yesterday surged past last year’s record results to become the highest-grossing horse auction in history.
The $45,000 that Excel Bloodstock paid for an Officer colt pushed total receipts past the $324.9 million worth of horseflesh sold last year at the auction.
