Google Checkout banned on eBay

EBay Inc., owner of the PayPal online payment service, banned customers from using a rival product from Google Inc. when trading goods online.
Google Checkout is listed among 39 online payment services that aren’t permitted on EBay, the San Jose, California-based company’s Web site shows today. EBay is still testing Google’s software, spokeswoman Catherine England said.

Search engine Google is expected to launch an online payment service today that will undercut the charges of established providers such as Ebay’s PayPal in enabling transactions over the web.
Google Checkout will speed the purchase process for consumers and make it easier for advertisers to monitor and complete sales.
